Biography

Hexiang Hu is a Member of Technical Staff at xAI. Prior to that, He was a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Viterbi School of Engineering at University of Southern California (USC), advised by Prof. Fei Sha. He was a Ph.D. student in Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Zhejiang University and Simon Fraser University with honor and worked with Prof. Greg Mori. He previously worked at Google Research, Facebook AI Research, Intel Labs, and Amazon AWS AI.

His long-term research goal is to build agents that understand human language in the perceptual and embodied environments. Towards this goal, he is generally interested in theories and algorithms of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. [ CV ]
